Float On ... Root Beer Float Roll-on!

I've got a little shock and awe going on right now. I accidentally discovered that one of my diffuser blends is bringing me the most delightfully intense moments of...feel-good. :-) I can't NOT share! One of my buddies mentioned she was going to diffuse this:

I wanted to diffuse with her, so I got my oils out. When I didn't feel like getting up to go to the diffuser I put a drop of each on my hand just to smell it, and then...it happened. TRY IT! (Affiliate links are included in this blog)

You bet your sweet patootie I made roll-on out of it right quick! I used somewhere around 35-40 drops each of Wintergreen, Stress Away, and Clove, put them in this roll-on bottle and topped (carefully!) with a little bit of fractionated coconut oil
Throw some homemade vanilla extract  in there if you like. (I like! I like!) And now my back is saying, "ahhhhh" while my nose is saying "yuuuum"!  Talk about aromatherapy being multi-functional!

I like this combo as close to 'neat', or 'straight', as possible, but you be the CEO of YOUR own health and dilute as you see fit. :-)

Dear God, Have I thanked you lately for the gifts you give us in our plants? Thank you Lord for the plants you created!
In Jesus' name I pray, Amen (I'm still tripping on how GOOD I feel!)

A member had this to share: "
Well...as usual Anointed By Abba didn't disappoint. I opened my bottles of Wintergreen, Clove and Stress Away, put them under Karsen's nose, my 5 year old, and said buddy what does this smell like. He took a whiff, sat back, eyes wide and said ROOT BEER! So cool..." Thank you so much for sharing that with us, Shelbi! :-)

And my son helped me out with this little vitty... Is it coincidence that clove is just love... with a C?!?

Just in case you aren't aware, clove is considered a 'hot' oil and should be used with caution & common sense. 'Hot' oils also should not be used in USB diffusers that have direct contact with plastic (no water) such as this Aroma2GoUSB diffuser.

Copaiba Essential Oil is the main ingredient in Stress Away Essential Oil. Information you must have about Copaiba can be found here.

Tangerine Lime Creamsicle DIY Organic Lip Balm

Umm, yum?

I followed the recipe below, which makes 10-12 balms. To each tube I added 2 drops Stress Away, 1 Lime and 1 tangerine. I can't stop smelling my lips!!!

For other lip balm EO combinations check out these recipe suggestions from a previous blog post. More importantly, check out the reasons we avoid buying premade balms from anyone other than YL and you'll understand why making our own lip balm is a no-brainer. Go ahead, take a look at that...we'll be right here when you get back. :-)

Didjya look? :-) So it costs MUCH less, there are none of those scary toxins in it when you make it yourself, and it's SO easy it's almost ridiculous! I was just saying how I STILL can not believe I am making my own lip balm after a few years. Our brains are good and programmed, aren't they?

This links to the page in our Amazon store for ingredients you need to DIY great lip balm. (Including the pippettes on page 5!) Save this post so you always have it!

I also love finding the creative side of myself. That's something else we miss out on when we support big corporations by just buying their lip balm. The balm tube in the post picture was decorated with 2 pieces of a patterned floral masking tape, which can be found along with other great DIY decoration tips in our post on...Poo-pouri! (LOL!) So please check that out. But how easy is that? And I'll have no problem spotting MY lip balm!

Secrets For Great Lavender Lemonade!

Gaah! It's hot in Arizona already! This is a recipe you may have seen floating around, popular in hot weather. We use this at our essential oil 101 classes and make and takes. And sometimes... 'just cuz'. Here are a few tips for great lavender lemonade!
LAVENDER LEMONADE

Juice from 7 lemons
Juice from 2 limes
14 cups water
1 1/2 cups agave
1 drop of Young Living lavender oil

Mix all ingredients together and chill. Add more water or agave, depending on the size and tartness of the fruit.

Totes delish. Lovely, lovely beverage and so many ways to have fun with it - i.e. substituting some water for vodka, or for all of it. Lol. Coconut water is another one that came up in my search. (which would be perfect after too much vodka) But the secret to it's color? Throw a couple frozen blueberries in your jar or pitcher. :-) Weet weeeoo! Fancy Nancy!

You can sweeten it with whatever you like. An option for sweetening that came highly recommended by my father-in-law (well-deserved in my opinion, it's my method now too!) is to make your own organic simple sugar syrup.

Simple syrup is the secret to sweetening a beverage without having to stir it FOREVER, waiting for those sugar crystals to dissolve. LOL. (This is
an indispensable staple ingredient of cocktail making--take note!) Just boil water on the stove or in an electric kettle and mix with organic cane sugar at a 1:1 ratio
in a heat safe pour-friendly container, such as a Pyrex measuring cup.
Stir til sugar dissolves, maybe for 30 seconds. You can use it right away, but will want to compensate for the heat with ice. Store any leftovers in the fridge and keep in mind that it thickens as it cools.

Hmmm... Yknow what would be cute in the jug? Gigantic ice cubes with some frozen lavender suspended in there. I'll see if I can buy more lavender flowers this year from Young Living at Convention. That was one of my highlights in 2015. LOL!

Here's another one:

I met the youngest Young! I gotta tell you this is a really special kid. (Lol, I bet you already knew that!) This is a unique and dynamic FAMILY and I think it's great that they are so hands-on and involved. I'm excited to bring my husband and my own children to convention this year. And I hope to see the farm!

Every batch of lavender lemonade is unique and delicious. I will say it is easy to unintentionally over-lavender your lemonade, so be ready to let only one drop come out. One is enough. You can also add Young Living lemon or lime essential oil for additional health benefits. :-)

Lavender oil  has a chemically complex structure with over 150 active constituents for supporting great health. Research indicates that lavender oil aromatherapy benefits include reducing anxiety and lowering pulse rates during stressful situations. Pure, therapeutic grade lavender essential oil used as aromatherapy has been demonstrated to be more relaxing than merely resting or massage alone. We've nicknamed lavender the Swiss Army Knife of essential oils, because it is SO versatile. I find ingesting it helps me with seasonal irritations!

Lavender is a wonderful aromatic herb that calms the senses. Here are a few reasons I chose to use Young Living.

Another blog post about lavender we simply MUST share...click the link inside that says MUST READ. When I read it, I knew I could not possibly want my lavender from any other company in the world.

Anointed By Abba ~ more to diffuse!

I'm Kristina, I do most of the writing for Anointed By Abba. I decided to make Young Living a business once my high school friend Kim came on board and we were soon joined by another longtime schoolmate, Brenda. The three of us are very different, but we all have one thing in common besides school and loving Young Living. We all have amazing daughters!

My daughter is showing a knack for blending YLEO! Not quite 10 years old, SHE created this blend all on her own, and I must say...she made her Momma proud! It really smells like rain! And not like city rain...like a clean, flower-field-in-the-country rain. :-)

If you don't have Sleepyize, try lavender in it's place. This blend is great for unwinding at nighttime and to bring about a state of calm & well-being. (Example, if it's April and already 97 degrees in the dry desert where you live and FREAKING out about it is not going to help!)

This one is great too! We can't have  'Rain' without a 'Rainbow' now, can we?!

We have more diffuser blends ready to knock your socks off this week and next. Until then, be sure to check these!

And on the 'rain' theme...

I'm discovering I'm HEARTBROKEN over Prince. :-( I'm actually surprised by my own reaction. All I really know is that this man was musical genius and his music is part of the soundtrack of my life.

I've got the song stuck in my head and this is in the diffuser to help me calm, heal and move forward. (Valor II is a good swap if you don't have Build Your Dream) Rest in peace Prince Rogers Nelson.

Do you know why therapeutic grade essential oil can have such a profound impact on our state of emotional well-being? The science is really quite fascinating. I have no doubt that plants were created for the benefit of human beings. :-) I'd encourage you to do your own your research. See what you come up with when you search essential oils to support physical and emotional well being.

When it's time to lift the spirits...this is a good spring OR summer blend. Depends on where you spring, I guess! In Arizona we sprung months ago. :-) LOL!

This is a blend I associate with summer and was holding off to post it...but, why? G'head! Enjoy!

Another blend great for spring, as well as supporting healthy lung function and emotional well-being. :-)

Here are a few more fun ideas for your diffuser!

We're continuing to grow in our community and hope to add more of our schoolmates, friends and even our children to the pool of people working to change the statistics. This short video is not from our organization, but we share in the same mission. Watch it and tell me if it moves you!

Pretty, Pretty Poo-pouri.

Well? Some moms are buying this stuff for $8 and up! We can make it for under...two. (hee hee) They do have clever names like "Trap-a-crap", "Poo la la" and "Deja Poo". Since we're making this for moms & not selling it in stores, we can get away with calling it....."Chanel #2".

HaHAhaaaa! Ohhh. I needed that. :-) All we'd need to DIY this are 2 ounce glass spray bottles, Young Living Essential Oil, witch hazel or rubbing alcohol (to emulsify) and water.

10-20 drops of Purification is all you really need. 30 if your mom is a truck driver. OK, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, save the emails for something serious, I just want to say you can always add more oil!

Just like any other recipe, use the oils YOU want. A super fancy combo I love is equal parts of Eucalyptus Globulus, Lemongrass & Spearmint. :-) Perfect for pooping in public if you're prim and proper!

Add essential oil & a teaspoon of rubbing alcohol or witch hazel to the bottle and fill to the neck with water. Shake to mix, and use 4-6 sprays on the toilet water's surface before you go. It creates something of a barrier on top of the water so there's no... escaping. :-) Do the best you can to use organic ingredients!

I seriously can't advise you to even flush another brand of oil down the toilet! What goes down the drain gets in our water supply, therefore our food supply, so please think about saving the planet & it's people from those hormone disrupting synthetic fragrances. Now, off my soapbox...

You have to make it pretty. That's a law for poo-pouri, because everyone knows that moms only fart rose petals. We must keep it this way. I found a pretty washi masking tape like mine on Amazon, and when I clicked on it, it turned out there were several choices. Some had free shipping, some did not, but most averaged about $6-7. The pictures below can be clicked to bring you to the same page I was looking at. :-) Your local craft store probably has good choices, too. ;-)

Another thing to consider is this tapefitti caddy. My daughter has this and I love it. I kinda stole it from her. LOL. (Mom of the Year) It's tiny decorative Scotch tape about the width of a lip balm lid. I used this on my very first batch of balm. :-) I only owned black duct tape at that time (wow) so it was the perfect added accent. Two or three rows around the bottle would be enough. :-)

Under $10 for 60 mini tapes, 9ft each?! Click here!

I added an oval label over the tape, investing all of one minute to make this pretty. :-) And all for just under $2.

Maybe YOUR Mom poops sunflowers, butterflies or dogwood. See Anointed By Abba's complete sticker collection in the Decorate your DIY category of our Amazon store. Underneath, there are a few subcategories for tapes, labels, etc. and each has a couple pages. No need to be boring in the bathroom!

Need a little help with getting your sinuses to drain? Freeflow!

Sometimes draining the lymph system helps me to feel good. Check out this video. I found it a few years ago and still use parts of this information daily. My first experience was really, really cool. I had to 'clear my throat' several times. (That's the clean version!)

For me, this method also helps with draining my sinuses, so I'm sure somebody somewhere will find this info useful! I use a blend of oils when I do a lymph massage and this is a sort of everyday blend that helps:

Drop numbers are approximate:
15-20 Wintergreen and Aroma Life
5-10 Copaiba & PanAway
3-5 Peppermint

Fill the rest of a
10 ml roll-on with any carrier oil such as fractionated coconut or sweet almond. Click the affiliate links (red or yellow words are links in this blog) for Anointed By Abba's picks on Amazon! These labels or ones like these are a find, too. They're prefect for roll-on bottles. In my cart you go!! :-)

On bad days I use straight Panaway behind my ears and have found the combination of oil & the Star Trek lymph massage nothing less than divine. On the worst days I have topped Panaway with Deep Relief. Scientifically, there could be a bajillion reasons these things work on a physiological level. I just know they work for me. There are many oils that assist the body in supporting a healthy lymph system. Use what you have and make your roll-on custom to you!

I'd never suggest someone substitute my judgement for their own and implore the reader to do their own research! That said, my opinion is that this is very basic information we should all be empowered with as CEO's of our own health! So, keep this is in your 'human body instruction manual', lol. A simple massage may make the difference between someone developing an infection or not, someone getting unnecessary medications or not and who knows what else. It's kind of a big deal!

Essential oils are not necessary for this technique to help someone feel better, however, cypress essential oil can help support a healthy functioning lymphatic system and helichrysum essential oil can help support a healthy circulatory system. Both are in Young Living's blend Aroma Life. Tip: If you ever have a puffy eye thing going on in the morning - try Aroma Life around the eye bone.

Sweet & Salty Spray - If Sea Salt Spray and Simple Organic Sugar DIY Hairspray...had a baby. :-)

I'm so excited to bring you an update to the Anointed By Abba DIY simple organic hairspray blog! There were some great suggestions made for different kinds of organic DIY hairspray on Young Living's blog in the comments that may work better than just sugar, so we were all over it, and the test results are in! What stood out in particular is the sea salt suggestion that Miss Jennifer Mansour made, and I knew it was a must try!

If you have not read the Anointed By Abba blog on simple organic DIY hairsprayyou're going to want to do that, and be sure to click on the link talking about 'all the little details' to help you decide which recipe will be right for you. That blog tells the story of how the medium hold hairspray recipe below was born. This blog tells you how the beachy Sea Salt Spray pictured in the middle came to be, and what I think is THE BEST DIY ORGANIC HAIRSPRAY EVER, combining the two! If you don't want to read, FINE! Scroll down for a huge collage picture of these recipes that are easier to see. :-)

The first new alternative recipe I tried was just sea salt. I ground, very finely at that, pink Himalayan sea salt and added 1 tsp to a new
2 ounce fine mist spray bottle, then filled it with hot water to dissolve. (**3 tsp. = 1 Tbsp** That equates to roughly 2 tablespoons for a 12 oz bottle)

I used pink Himalayan sea salt from Costco. If you don't know where 2 get quality Himalayan pink sea salt: a suggestion here.

After cooling, I took half of that sea salt mixture (1 ounce) and added it to an ounce of my current simple organic DIY hairspray
 - premade - so I could test a salty-sweet combination! **I also added an optional 1/4 tsp. Grey Goose vodka to both, to assist them with the drying process**

When I poured the salt mixture into a bottle to combine it with the sugar mixture using a white funnel, I could see the liquid WAS PINK!! I DIED!! Hee hee! Pink hairspray?!? I might get a clear glass bottle just for that! OK, OK back to serious and scientific...

There are two important factors that are going to affect the outcome of my hairstyling today that I bet many others would be interested in hearing. (There are A LOT of us ladies that are hair-obsessed!)

The first is that yesterday I got my hair colored. Yes, hair color is very bad for us - one of the most toxic things we can do. But if Oprah Winfrey can do a whole show based on none of us American women having our natural hair color - I know I'm in good company! Another reason I am using essential oils daily. But, I digress. That IS a factor. When my hair is freshly colored it's darn near impossible to work with. I normally have a fight with freshly colored hair to coax it to do anything. Today was so much better!

The second factor is that today is the day after a rainy day in Phoenix, Arizona, so it is an unusually humid day here. (We go months between rain most of the time) My 12 year old son checked for us, and the humidity where we live today is 60%!  It's not 60% inside my home, but I have had my windows open to enjoy some of this balmy moist air, and I can tell I'm working with more humidity than usual.

I should also add that I washed my hair today and it was damp when I started. I used some of the Sea Salt Spray as part of my pre-blow dry product, and I LOVED the texture it added to my hair. You will definitely want to make this! (And it gave me more ideaaaas!)

Another thing I want to tell you about the Sea Salt Spray is the mixture clogged up the fine mist spray bottle nozzle, which is the preferred nozzle for the simple DIY hairspray made with sugar, but it was a pain in the butt to use with the salt! :-/ That texture, though... I kept rinsing it after each squirt so I could give it a fair try and an accurate report.

With all of the factors known, I'll let you know that I tried the sea salt mixture by itself as my curl setter. (If you're not sure what I mean by THAT you are really going to need to read the first  simple organic DIY hairspray blog and the additional information page called 'all the little details'...easy read, good info, just do it!) Sea Salt Spray as my curl setter wasn't working well at all! My hair was just flopping down like a dog that had a long day chasing squirrels!

**If you like the Sea Salt recipe best, I believe an adjustable dial trigger spray would work better, such as this 12 oz aluminum spray bottle and more spray bottle choices here.

So then I pulled in the half-and-half sweet & salty mixture, and this is where the magic happened! For a moment I did think I smelled kettle corn, but that's not a bad thing. Hee hee! EO's come later. My lower sugar version of simple DIY organic hairspray combined with the Sea Salt Spray provided a texture AND a hold that's so perfect for me. The combo spray is working well in a fine mist spray bottle. ;-)

There you have it. My suggestion is make them both and mix as you see fit.

It's very light feeling on my hair but it's still movable and I thought that it worked out great.

I took a couple pictures to show you and - oh my gosh that was not easy to do.  My choices ended up being... photos where I didn't look like a dork but the top my head was chopped off, photos where my hair looked great but my eyes were closed, and some were just SILLY, so here you go - these are the pictures you get. You're welcome.

I will try to remember to get another shot at the end of the day, or at least update on the hold. (After midnight now and the update is... FANTASTIC! I'm REALLY excited about this one!)

I just got my Young Living Essential Rewards order (WAHOO!) and RepelAroma is in it, so I'm trying that with Tea Tree (I miss calling it Melaleuca Alternafolia) and it smells REALLY good.

I love the original simple organic DIY hairspray recipe, I'm over the moon with the texture that I have with the sea salt spray and I love the hold that I have with the sweet & salty combo! I'm sure that you will find SOMETHING in here that will be useful for your hairstyling routine that will eliminate some chemicals from your life and I wish you the best luck in your endeavors!

There are still more things to try, so keep in touch!
